چکیده

Abstract The objective of the current study is to determine effect feeding rates on efficacy diflubenzuron against filth fly development in manure beef heifers. Twelve Angus × Hereford crossbred heifers (263 kg ± 16.2 BW) were used a completely randomized design and assigned 2 x factorial arrangement treatments evaluate horn flies Haematobia irritans (L.), stable Stomoxys calcitrans house Musca domestica utilizing fecal bioassays. Treatments consisted insecticidal [Diflubenzuron (DFB; 0.10 mg per no DFB (CNT)] with dietary fed regimens [1.5% BW alfalfa hay cubes 3.0% cubes]. All receiving dosed daily beginning day 0 continuing through 7. Manure samples collected prior offering for 11 consecutive days. Efficacy calculations developed standard bioassays accounting control performance. A treatment interaction (P ≤ 0.01) was observed all species largely associated presence on-set (day 0–2) wash out 8–10) product. Feeding regimen did not > 0.05) influence performance any evaluated. Formulations appear handle wide range animal intake scenarios under controlled situations.

Efficacy of cyromazine to control immature stable flies (Diptera: Muscidae) developing in winter hay feeding sites.

Hay mixed with manure and urine residues at sites where hay has been provided as supplemental winter feed for cattle provide an excellent substrate for the development of immature stable flies, Stomoxys calcitrans (L.). Such sites are primary sources of early summer stable flies in the central United States and no effective measures are currently available to control fly development in them. A ...
